Delivery apps were winning the speed war. We rebuilt the app around one tap to checkout — mobile sales doubled.
A private, moderated community app for healing, personal growth and peer support, built with AI moderation so a small team can keep a vulnerable community safe.
Daniel O'Connor, a founder with an 18-year career in executive search and investment research, was building Our Space: a private, moderated community app for healing, personal growth and peer support.
It was a deliberate alternative to social platforms that leave people anxious, and it needed to be safe before it could be anything else.
The vision and the community thesis were there. The engineering capacity was not.
A consumer community product carries a problem most founders underestimate: trust at scale. Open the doors to vulnerable people talking about mental health and growth, and the safety work starts on day one.
Private and open spaces need working rules about who can see and post what.
Every photo and video a member shares has to be checked, with a small team.
Partner organizations needed a way to run their own communities, all before there was revenue.
The team had the vision and a part-time CTO, so build capacity and the safety layer were where the work was breaking down.
The product's promise depends on the safety layer, so it could not be left for later.
We delivered Our Space in agile sprints from January 2025 to mid-2026.
Community engine — Members, groups, discussion threads and posts, with access and locking flows for private and open spaces.
AI content moderation — Video posting to Supabase with AI-driven video and image moderation, so a small team can host a safe space at scale.
Partner communities — Infrastructure for influencer and organization-led communities.
Growth plumbing — Device-aware universal deep links powering share flows and Meta ads.
Admin surface — A Firebase-hosted admin hub plus public policy pages.
We treated the visible interface, the operating workflow, and the underlying data model as one system, coherent for members and practical for the team running it.

Every case study on this site documents work delivered by the Singular team. We publish them under the company rather than under an individual byline, because the engagements are run by a team and the company is what stands behind the claims.
